Waypoint Psychology - Clinical Practice
|
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. My rigorous training combined clinical work and research at a doctoral level. My clinical practice is regulated by the HCPC, ensuring ethical and professional standards. Read more about different therapist qualifications here.
In addition to my core training, I am also a qualified EMDR practitioner. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals process and overcome traumatic experiences that may be negatively impacting their mental health and daily lives. Since joining the NHS in 2013, I have worked with people across the lifespan in various settings, including outpatient and inpatient units, major London hospitals such as St Thomas' and the Royal London, and a specialist trauma clinic. In recent years I have specialised in supporting women and their families with perinatal mental health challenges, including anxiety during pregnancy and post-birth, postnatal depression, and birth trauma. |
I now work exclusively in private practice with young people (16 years+) and adults of all ages. My integrative therapeutic approach draws on evidence-based models, including IFS, EMDR, CBT, ACT, and CFT, to tailor therapy to each individual’s unique needs.

My Journey and Life Beyond Work
Before becoming a psychologist, I worked as a commercial solicitor in a London law firm. I soon realised this career wasn’t the right fit for me, and I was drawn to psychology, a field where I could support people through meaningful change. This shift led me to retrain, eventually earning my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
I believe life is a non-linear journey. Rarely do things turn out exactly as we expect, and it can take time to figure out how to show up in the world in a way that feels authentic and fulfilling. This belief shapes my work as a psychologist: I strive to help my clients embrace their unique paths and navigate life’s challenges with compassion and resilience.
I see my role as a guide, a waypoint on your journey, offering a place to pause, recover and reflect, before finding your way forward again.
Outside of my professional role, I am a mother to two young children and a carer for an elderly parent. These experiences have given me a deeper understanding of the challenges that come with juggling multiple roles, and they shape how I support others in finding balance and meaning in their lives. When I’m not working, I’m with my children or enjoying being outdoors: walking my dog, swimming in the sea, or cycling along the beautiful Kent coast.
