Waypoint Psychology

Hello and Welcome

Waypoint Psychology is a Clinical Psychology service for adults and young people (16+), online across the UK, and in-person  in the Canterbury area.

I’m Dr Victoria Dain, founder of Waypoint Psychology. I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of experience in the NHS and private practice. I provide compassionate, evidence-based support for anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions. My therapy sessions offer a warm, reflective space where you can explore your experiences, process challenges, and discover opportunities for healing and growth. My approach is integrative and personalised to your needs, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches.

Waypoint Psychology is the name I’ve given this practice, because I believe in the power of having somewhere safe to pause, reflect and recover, before finding your path forward again.

Whether you’re seeking support for yourself or someone you care about, Waypoint Psychology is here to help you take the next step toward a more fulfilling and balanced life. Learn more about my qualifications here.

How Waypoint Psychology can support you

I offer compassionate, evidence-based support for a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including:

  • Anxiety and depression - for example low mood, racing or obsessive thoughts, self-criticism, panic attacks, and social anxiety.

  • Trauma and PTSD - including difficult or painful past experiences, childhood adversity, a traumatic birth experience, or emotionally harmful relationships that still impact how you feel day-to-day.

  • Life transitions - such as divorce or relationship breakdowns, career changes, identity shifts, or personal growth that feels overwhelming or uncertain.

  • Perinatal mental health and matrescence support - support through the transition to motherhood, including perinatal anxiety, postnatal depression, feelings of disconnection or worry about bonding with your baby, and the emotional shifts that come with becoming a parent.

Therapeutic approach at Waypoint Psychology

At Waypoint Psychology, I offer an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on a range of evidence-based models to meet each person’s unique needs. This allows me to adapt our work together in a way that feels attuned to where you are in your journey. Approaches I draw from include:

  • IFS  - Internal Family Systems

  • CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

  • CFT - Compassion-Focused Therapy

  • ACT - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing

As a qualified EMDR practitioner, I specialise in trauma therapy, integrating concepts from polyvagal theory and parts (IFS) work. These approaches help support healing by gently restoring a sense of safety, connection, and wholeness.

Finding the Right Therapist

Finding the Right Therapist
Choosing a therapist is a personal and meaningful decision.

Therapy is a journey, and finding the right therapist to guide and support you along the way is an important part of that process.

At Waypoint Psychology, I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute telephone or video call to help you decide if I’m the right fit for you.  This is an opportunity for us to connect, discuss your needs, and explore how we might work together.
